Description

The Smilodon is often known as a Saber Toothed Tiger but in fact was not closely related to either modern day tigers or cats. There were different species with the largest weighing up to 400+kg. In North America – they hunted bison and camels. The coat pattern of a Smilodon is unknown which is why you see it artistically recreated in either plain or spotted patterns, depending on where you look.
