The Dachshund (Badger Dog) was originally bred to flush out badgers and other burrow dwelling animals. Because of their long body they are sometimes known as “Sausage Dog”. A standard adult weighs 7.5-14.5kg. They are often stubborn making them difficult to train. They lie for around 13 years.
