Description
The largest land mammal on the Asian continent, the Asian Elephant can grow from 2-3.35m in height and weigh up to 5 tonnes! They are very sociable, forming groups of 6+ and occaisionally join up into larger herds. They mainly eat grasses but also tree bark, roots and leaves. Favourite foods are cultivated crops such as bananas, rice and sugarcane which of course brings them into conflict wit humans. They can always be found around water as they need to drink at least once a day. They live 13 countries spanning South and Southeast Asia.
